The Position

Based in Paola and reporting to the Technical Department Lead, the selected individual shall work in the Technical section of the Sales Department and assist the Lead with a broad array of duties. These shall include:

 Preparing 2D layouts and technical drawings for racking, shelving and other storage solutions

 Assisting in the creation of project drawings and documentation for client proposals and installations

 Working with AutoCAD or similar CAD software (retraining provided if required)

 Onboarding and operating supplier-specific design software and tools

 Supporting the Projects team with layout planning, measurements and drawing revisions

 Maintaining drawing records, files and version control

 Creating and updating project spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel

 Working collaboratively with the sales, technical, projects and installation teams

 Aiding in general project tasks and problem-solving activities

 Ensuring that all tasks are processed in a timely and effective manner

 Carrying out other duties as assigned by the Technical Department Lead from time to time

The ideal candidate would have - at the very least - a basic background in AutoCAD software as well as a willingness to learn industry-specific design tools and supplier systems. S/he would be keen to develop their technical skills, learn about a range of industry-related topics and be responsible, reliable and proactive. This is a hands-on technical role that requires attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A problem-solving mindset would be considered an asset. The candidate shall possess the following attributes and experience;

The Requirements

Essential

 A background in AutoCAD or similar CAD software

 Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

 Ability to read and understand technical drawings

 Strong attention to detail and accuracy

 Willingness to learn new supplier-specific design software and internal standards

 Positive attitude and willingness to support team tasks when required

 Excellent command of the English and/or Maltese languages

 Clean police conduct

Preferred

 Familiarity with warehouse storage systems, racking, shelving or construction layouts

 Experience using additional design tools (e.g. Bentley Micro station)

 Ability to take site measurements and surveys

 Valid driving license
